about

When the Professor and I were first approached by the author, Ryan Forsythe, about the idea of recording an original song to accompany his novel, my first thought was... "Oh, like those things that TV shows are based on? Cool." Then when I realized that we'd have to complete our song before the television version of the novel was to come out, I was a bit distraught. I'd actually have to read printed words and imagine things on my own? That sounded like a lot of work. But as I skimmed through an advanced copy of Dick Cheney Saves Paris, looking for inspiration, I realized that this was actually a pretty interesting story. And at the heart of the story was... a TV show! Granted this might not have been the actual heart of the story, but remember... I was just skimming. This particular TV show mentioned in the book didn't have a name, so we dreamed one up and then recorded the theme song for it. We tried to contact Regis Philbin to record the voice over at the beginning of the track, but apparently he has something against either A) Robots, B) Time Travel, C) Ryan Forsythe, or D) Dick Cheney. Lock in your final answer now.

lyrics

Welcome to the hit reality TV show, "Only Time Will Tell." Join your host, Regis Philbin, as he interviews time traveling celebrities before and after their trips. Can Madonna warn Jesus about Judas in time? Can Robin Williams use comedy to make Hitler more accepting of all people? Can Michael Jordan bring basketball to the inner cities of ancient Rome? Find out this season on "Only Time Will Tell."

Will things change or stay the same?
Only time will tell.

Famous volunteers,
Travel through the years,

They'll change the past,
Or end up last.

Will things change or stay the same?
Only time will tell.

They won't be renowned,
In these ancient towns.

They put their fame aside,
Embark on a wild ride.

Will things change or stay the same?
Only time will tell.
